On the topic of raising awareness of this life-saving number, every year on September 8, organizations across the country come together to recognize 988 Day and raise awareness of the 988 Lifeline nationally.
Here in Georgia, the need for this resource continues to grow. In 2025, Georgia’s 988 Lifeline call centers answered more than 350,000 calls, texts and chats – that’s an average of nearly 1,000 interactions every day.

During the same year, mobile crisis teams were dispatched more than 21,000 times, providing in-person support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
