At this year’s GACS Convention, the Barron Thorpe Supplier of the Year Award was presented to someone who has made a remarkable impact since day one, Arthur “Buddy” Rish.

Each year the association awards a supplier member who has gone above and beyond to support the association. And from the moment Buddy joined GACS, he’s done just that. In fact, he’s been on the nominee list since his first year as a member. While his company has only been a part of the association for a few years, it feels like we’ve known Buddy much longer.

From the start, Buddy jumped in with both feet and headfirst consistently giving back to the association in big and small ways. He’s the guy we call when we need something last minute. He’s the one we turn to when we need information. He’s the one we recommend when something needs to get done.

Simply put, he’s the kind of person who comes to mind when you hear the words: dedicated, determined, dependable.

And it’s not just about doing business. When you meet with Buddy, he never fails to ask: “Let me know what I need to do. What do you need? What does the association need?” That mindset—always being ready to serve—is exactly why he stands out.
