Susie Q’s, headquartered in Thomasville, Georgia, has been named a 2025 Outstanding Independents Award Winner by Convenience Store News. This recognition celebrates independent convenience retailers across the country that demonstrate exceptional operational excellence, leadership, and community engagement—qualities that define Susie Q’s.

With 12 locations across Georgia and Florida, Susie Q’s has built a reputation for clean, welcoming stores and a people-first culture, led by long-tenured, trusted managers. Beyond daily operations, the Patel family has consistently gone above and beyond to serve their communities, delivering essential supplies during emergencies and even mobilizing relief trucks to North Carolina after catastrophic storms, despite having no stores in the state. “In America, we stand together,” said co-owner Tommy Patel.
This award also reflects Susie Q’s leadership within the Georgia Association of Convenience Stores (GACS). Tommy Patel served on the GACS Board of Directors from 2014 to 2023, while Sagar Patel currently serves as Membership Chairman. Their team has supported industry advocacy efforts by hosting events like a Lunch & Learn and In-Store Legislative Visit in 2024, helping strengthen connections between convenience stores and policymakers.
