Need new lighting, refrigeration or HVAC in your store?

GACS can help provide retailers that qualify up to $10,000 per location.

In 2010, GACS received grand funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 in cooperation with the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority.  Those funds were quickly distributed to more than 25 locations across the state.  Owners applied for and were eligible to receive funds to upgrade antiquated lighting, refrigeration and HVAC units.

Over a period of less than 5 years, a portion of the retrofit savings must be paid back to the fund.  Therefore, over the course of the past 4 years, the fund has replenished.  As of today (9/22/14), there is roughly $200,000 available.  That’s enough funds to update 20 more GACS member stores!

These funds will only be available to GACS members who complete the application, qualify and get approved. Once approved, you must follow the application instructions in order to receive the rebate.  Recently Matt McGhee, Neighbors Express, applied for and received a rebate to improve the energy efficiency, lighting and appearance of three of his Georgia locations.  According to McGhee, “this grant made it possible for me, a small operator, to decrease my electric bill & increase our foot traffic by installing better lighting & refrigeration.  Outlaw did a great job of helping me implement the whole process.  I would encourage anyone in need of new more efficient lighting & equipment to apply for the grant.  It is a great program for GACS members.”

Still concerned as to whether or not it is worth it to apply?  Check out this Atlanta Case Study of 3 locations.  Does your usage compare?  While funds are still available, apply now and Outlaw Consulting can help answer the rest of your questions.
