Investing in the Next Generation of Industry LeadersBy Angela Holland | President, GACS Have you ever stopped to think about what the future leadership of your company looks like? Many of us have employees who show tremendous potential. The challenge is figuring out how to help them grow into confident, capable leaders who can help move ourbusinesses forward. That very idea is what inspired the creation of the GACS L.E.A.D. Academy. Launching in fall 2026, the GACS L.E.A.D. Academy represents an important investment in the future of Georgia’s convenience store industry. While our industry continues to evolve, one thing remains constant: strong leadership is the foundation of llong-term success. This eight-month leadership development program is designed for owners, decision-makers, and emerging leaders. Led by experienced leadership development facilitator Dr. Larry Grays, the academy will combine expert instruction with practical insights from some of Georgia’s most successful operators. Participants will gain real-world leadership tools while building meaningful connections with peers across the industry. I’m especially excited that we will be officially announcing the L.E.A.D. Academy at this year's annual convention, with the program set to kick off at the Southern Convenience Store and Petroleum Show this October.
This initiative would not be possible without the dedication and vision of the GACS L.E.A.D. Academy planning team, who have spent many hours shaping this program to ensure it delivers meaningful value to our members and their companies.
