Our next Lunch and Learn of the year will be on November 21st and is titled All About Hemp. It is going to be hosted by Susie Q's in Thomasville.

Our upcoming Lunch & Learn and last of the year is on December 4th and is on the topic of alternative fuels, hydrogen and propane. It will be hosted by Geo H. Green Oil at the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce.
At the Lunch & Learn we will discuss hydrogen and propane which are two up and coming fuels that will change the gas-up landscape. We will provide information on both fuel types including how they work, and how to install stations. Our speakers are James Young, President of the Young Group, and Mark Denton, VP Business Development at Blossman Gas. Dr. Young is a published author and speaker on commerial fueling site engineered designs, fuels and related issues. Denton has over 45 years' experience in the retail propane business, promoting propane as a clean alternative fuel to gasoline.

At our last Lunch & Learn, hosted by us, we discussed compliance assistance, release detection, release prevention, and protecting the environment. Our speakers, Michael Hester (Regulatory Compliance Unit Manager) and Abiola Badru (Corrective Action Unit), both under the Georgia EPD UST Management Program, provided you with a roadmap for navigating the corrective action process in the unfortunate event your UST system has a release into the environment.
July 17, 2024 Lunch & Learn - Ins and Outs of COAM
At this Lunch & Learn, hosted by J. R. Morgan Oil and us, we discussed a topic very important to GACS Retailers - the Ins and Outs of COAM, and what the newly signed legislation means for your business. Our President Angela Holland, was joined by a retailer, Slaton Whatley with Whatley Convenience Stores, and an industry supplier, Buddy Rish with Mims Entertainment.

At this Lunch & Learn, hosted by us, we discussed how to recognize potential risks and threats, how to mitigate exposure, and what to do if your system is attacked. We additionally went over steps to take to minimize risk, and what resources there are to help. Our speaker was Klint Walker who is a Cyber Security Advisor, Region VI, DHS overseeing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, and Tennessee.
